Sir Cyril Smith has died, aged 82

Rochdale’s most famous former MP, Sir Cyril Smith, has passed away peacefully this morning (Friday 3 September 2010), aged 82.

Sir Cyril had been ill for many months and passed away in his sleep at Hurstead Nursing Home, Rochdale.
